Total temple

HISTORY:
In India, there is an old saying which corroborates the fact that where women are respected, the Gods feel happy and make their Abodes. In the 17th century, Sri Raja Vasireddy Jagga Bhoopal was ruling Krishna region, with Amaravathi as his Capital. In his kingdom, was born Sri Tirupatamma, in the family of “Kolla”. She married Sri Gopaiah Swamy of “Kakani” family, and brought glory to both families, and the entire region, by her undeterred devotion to the Lord. Sri Tirupatamba was not only a great devotee but also a good housewife, sharing sorrows and joys with her husband. Despite this, she faced severe ill treatment and misery at her husband’s house. Finally, when her husband died she immolated herself in her husband’s funeral pyre.
Sri Tirupatamba is worshipped in the Penuganchiprolu Temple as the image of “Shakti”. She preached virtuous qualities of life to her devotees and made her, Adobe at Penuganchiprolu, Mudiraj Papamamba was her principal devotee and therefore, her family members are ordained to perform poojas and other sevas in the Temple. According to the folklore there were 101 Temples existing in ancient times and therefore, it was deemed as Pedakanchipuram. Muniyeru (a stream) flowing, along the Temple, and was said to be created with the spiritual power of Moudgalya Maharishi and hence it was named after him.
Penuganchiprolu previously called "Pedakanchi" . 101 Temples are there in penuganchprolu.The great goddess "Sri Laxmi Tirupathamma, Gopaiah" Temple. Every year, approxmately Ten lacks of piligrams visit the temple. Thousands of Women carry Bonalu for the temple fair (Tirunallu) at Penuganchiprolu.
Penuganchiprolu is also famous for its great heritage and culture. Andhra Ratna Gopalakrishnayya Duggirala (1889-1928) born in our penuganchiprolu
Gopalakrishnayya Duggirala was one of the famous leaders in the non-violent Indian Freedom Movement. He attracted millions of Andhra Indians to the movement through his poetry and speeches. He was born in Penuganchiprolu village in Krishna district on June 2, 1889 into a Brahmin family. His father was Kodandaraamaiah and mother was Seetamma. He studied in high schools in Gunturu and Bapatla cities. While at school, even at that young age, he founded “Jaateeya Naatyamandali (National Dance Group)” to help develop arts such as drama and music. He was the Founder of "RamDandu" organization, which lead the krishna and Guntur district people in big way and attracted the national leaders.
Dr. Kommaraju Laxmana Rao, a great literature was also born in Penuganchiprolu.He Started "Sri Krishna Telugu maha Sabha" in Hyderabad.
Penuganchprolu is also famous for agriculture, political movement and high skilled technical professionals are available.

Significance
Sri Tirupatamma Ammvaru, goddess of power, riches and benevolence is considered the presiding deity of Penuganchioprolu. The temple is set adjacent to Munniyeru River. The deity in the Sri Tirupatamma temple is regarded as Gramadevatha, hence is considered very powerful.

Climate
The climate of Penuganchiprolu is tropical in nature with hot summers and moderate winters. April to June are the summer months with temperatures ranging from a minimum of 270 C to 450 C. The temperatures during the winter months range from 280 to 170 C. The area is very humid, the average humidity ranges from 68% during summer season. The annual rainfall in the region is about 965 mm and is contributed by the Southwest monsoon. The best time to visit this place is March to June

It is on the National High way from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) operates point-to-point bus services.

The devotees visiting the shrine are offered free meals every day under Annadana Padhakam with the contributions made by the devotees. The donor particulars for the scheme are as follows.

û Don't carry any weapon inside the temple.
û Don't wear any head guards like helmets, caps, turbans and hats inside the temple premises.
û Don’t take much time while performing ‘Sparsa Darshanam’ to Ammavaru in Garbhalayam.
û Don’t buy spurious prasadams from street vendors.
û Don’t encourage beggars at Penuganchiprolu.
û Don’t spit or create nuisance in the premises of the temple
